What is Qurbani?
Qurbani means “Sacrifice”. It is an obligation of all able adult Muslims in order to honor the sacrifice that Ibrahim (AS) was prepared to make as he demonstrated his devotion and submission to Allah (SWT). Each year during the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah, Muslims around the world are obligated to slaughter an animal in honor of the Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail. The meat is then distributed to vulnerable families around the world, helping to alleviate hunger.
Freedom Bakeries will be working in the following countries this Qurbani season

The Holy Qur’an stating:
It is neither their flesh nor their blood that reaches Allah, but what does reach Him is the taqwā (the sense of obedience) on your part. Thus He has made them (the animals) subjugated to you, so that you proclaim Allah’s glory for the guidance He gave you. And give good news to those who are good in their deeds.
– Qur’an, 22:37 (Surah Al-Hajj)
Qurbani is not just an obligation for Muslims — it’s a beautiful way to feed thousands of families all around the world. Your gift of meat on Eid-ul-Adha brings comfort, happiness, and laughter to those who often can not afford meat, new clothes, or even sweets on Eid. Not only do you fulfill an obligation, but you help alleviate hunger around the world.
Whoever slaughtered his sacrifice before he prays, let him slaughter another one in its place, and whoever did not slaughter a sacrifice, let him do so in the name of Allah.
