I am Mays Abdel Rahim Bahjat, a medical student at Ain Shams University. I chose medicine to achieve my childhood dream of becoming an oncologist. Medicine is not just a profession for me; it is a passion and a way to provide the best care for patients while advancing the field.

After the Gaza war, my home was bombed, my mother was martyred, and my family members were severely injured. We moved to Egypt for treatment, and I resumed my studies to continue pursuing my dream.

The Freedom Organization scholarship greatly supports me in completing my education despite my family’s difficult economic situation after the war, allowing me to focus on my studies.

My future goal is to specialize in oncology, contributing to advancements in cancer treatment and improving patients’ quality of life through research and innovation.
